THURSDAY JUNE 25th

19h / Museum Talks: the „AinB“ project
20h / Exhibition opening: „AinB“
Opening word by Miroslava Lukic Krstanovic (Ethnographic Institute SANU)

The „AinB“ exhibition is a collaboratiove project of photographer Nebojša Babic and curator Ana Sladojevic. The people that participated in the project are Museum friends who are connected through thier roots, language or familial ties to Africa: Emma Ashiantide, Isaac Nana Amissah-Eshun, Alberto Dias, Arafan Djassi (in memoriam), Biradieye Fall, Ivon Jafali, Abdellatyf Kharmouch, Tarik Kharmouch, Hamadahamane Maiga, Mihajlo Idrisa Maiga, Tamara Kabangu Maiga, Alfaris Sajed, Hani Tajeb. Individual stories that accompany thier portraits, reconstruct their relationship with their surroundings. Video footage was created with film-director Aleksandar Maricic. The exhibition was realised with the help of ORANGE Studio.

FRIDAY JUNE 26th

18 / Lecture: „A l’appel de la Race de Saba“, Vesna Cakeljic (PhD)

The lecture is based on the poetry of Leopold Sedar Sengore and will reflect on the book edited and translated by Vesna Cakeljic (PhD), publushed by the renowned publishing firm „Paideia“ fronted by Petar Živadinovic. The theoretical work of Vesna Cakeljic reveals the complex poetic work of this world renowned author, through her erudite and highly developed translatory expertise.

21h / Concert: Metarmophosis – Branka Parlic performs piano pieces by Philip Glass
(Programme: Metamorphosis 1-5, Wichita Vortex Sutra, Modern Love Waltz)

Pianist Branka Parlić brings her performance of Philip Glass to the Museum of African Art. The contrast and mutual intervention created between a museum context and concert performance bring life to a completely new and unique experience of space and music. The concert is supported by MITROS MUSIC

22h / Concert: Percussions – Miša Savic & friends

SATURDAY, JUNE 27th

10-18h / African Bazaar

Visitors of the African Bazaar have the opportunity to purchase unique arts and crafts from many African countries: Ghana, Guinea, Morocco, Algeria, Egypt, Kenya, Zimbabwe and South Africa.
…Semi-precious stone jewellery, fabrics coloured using tie-dye technique, batik, tapestries, Berber carpets, papyri, bubu-dresses, leather and sisal bags, baskets, masks, sculptures, oil paintings, musical instruments…

SUNDAY, JUNE 28th

Entrance fee: 100 din.
10-18h / Durbar Day – the day of friendship, music and dance.
14h / Welcoming word by H.E. Kamal Faqir Benaissa, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco, Vice Dean of the African Groupe in Belgrade

Durbar Day has for years now been organised thanks to the participation of the Embassies of Algeria, Angola, Congo, Egypt, Ghana, Guinea, Libya, Morocco, Tunisia who present their cultures through a selection of arts, crafts and culinary specialities. The experiance would not be complete without live music, for which the Museum has the honour to present kora musician Kemo Soundioulou Cissoko, percussionist Igor Vincetic, as well as our old friends Alberto Dias and his So Sabi, as well musicians who will transmit the music and rhythms of Angola and Libya. Concerts and workshops start at 12h and 16h.
